Glucagon-like peptide-1 response to whey protein is less diminished by dipeptidyl peptidase-4 in comparison with responses to dextrin, a lipid and casein in rats

Yuki Shimizu et al.

Summary: Although glucose is the most well-known nutrient to stimulate GLP-1 secretion, dietary peptides also play a significant role in stimulating GLP-1 secretion and inhibiting DPP-4 activity. Whey protein administration resulted in less degradation of GLP-1 compared to other nutrients, indicating a potential protective effect of dietary peptides on GLP-1.

Epicatechin ameliorative effects on methotrexate-induced hepatotoxicity in mice

Reza Azadnasab et al.

Summary: The study showed that epicatechin (Epi) can reduce methotrexate (MTX)-induced hepatotoxicity in mice by improving the antioxidant defense system, anti-inflammatory effects, and alleviation of histopathological damage. Epi may be used as a therapeutic agent in hepatotoxicity associated with MTX chemotherapy.

Effects of Rosmarinic Acid on Methotrexate-induced Nephrotoxicity and Hepatotoxicity in Wistar Rats

Summary: The study demonstrated that rosmarinic acid (RA) effectively alleviated the nephrotoxicity and hepatotoxicity induced by Methotrexate (MTX) in rats. RA reduced the levels of renal and liver markers, decreased oxidative damage, and minimized tissue necrosis and inflammation.
