Genotype-environment interaction and stability of fiber properties and growth traits in triploid hybrid clones of Populus tomentosa

Jian Wu et al.

Summary: The study aimed to confirm and expand earlier findings on genotypic stability and G x E interactions in triploid hybrid clones of P. tomentosa Carr. Results showed significant clonal and site effects, as well as interactions in fiber properties and growth traits. Most triploid hybrid clones had higher reaction norms to improved growth conditions and higher phenotypic plasticity, with accurate estimation requiring more clonal testing sites for growth traits compared to fiber properties.
