Design, Synthesis and Gibberellin-Like Activity of Novel 1-Substituted 3-[3-(Trifluoromethyl)phenyl]thiourea Derivatives

Zhikun Yang et al.

Summary: The study found that compound S8 exhibited excellent promotion effects on plant growth, positively impacting the growth and development of Arabidopsis thaliana and rice. Molecular docking analysis showed that S8 had a tighter binding with the GID1 receptor, and its bioactivity displayed a clear negative association with the docking score values.

Analysis of differentially expressed proteins affecting insecticidal protein content in Bt cotton under high-temperature and water deficit stress using label-free quantitation

Xiang Zhang et al.

Summary: The study found that high-temperature and drought stress significantly decreased insecticidal protein content in Bt cotton bolls, with a decrease of 65.2 ng/g fresh weight compared to the control group. Analysis of the differently expression proteins revealed 83 up-regulated proteins and 104 down-regulated proteins, with 122 new proteins detected and 167 proteins not detected. The Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathways analysis showed that 14 pathways were significantly affected by the stress, with three pathways related to protein synthesis.

The TOR-Auxin Connection Upstream of Root Hair Growth

Katarzyna Retzer et al.

Summary: Plant growth and productivity are regulated by signaling cascades balancing responses to environmental changes with resource availability, involving shoot and root. Energy for growth is generated through photosynthesis in leaves and nutrients are absorbed through root hairs. Root hair growth requires proper distribution of auxin and specific carrier proteins.
