Current Trends in Knee Arthroplasty: Are Italian Surgeons Doing What Is Expected?

Lorenzo Moretti et al.

Summary: Italian surgeons tend to perform total knee arthroplasty (TKA) more commonly than unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA). There is more consistency in pre-operative planning for TKA compared to UKA. There is also a lack of uniformity in the timing and features of post-operative follow-up.

Risk Factors for Aseptic Loosening After Total Knee Arthroplasty with a Rotating-Hinge Implant A Case-Control Study

Ali Levent et al.

Summary: This study identified higher body mass index as a risk factor for revision following TKA with rotating-hinge knee prostheses, with most patients experiencing loosening of the femoral component. Furthermore, the inner femoral diameter 20 cm proximal to the knee joint was found to be a highly reliable predictor of revision surgery in patients with aseptic loosening.
