Development of redox potential-driven fermentation process for recombinant protein expression

Jingjie Guo et al.

Summary: The study developed a redox potential-driven fermentation method to guide the cultivation progress of recombinant protein expression by maintaining dissolved oxygen at a prescribed level and monitoring the changes of fermentation redox potential. Results showed two distinct ORP valleys which could be used to guide the timing for the addition of inducing agent and cell harvesting. The final prolinase activity was higher compared to traditional methods, showing the potential of this developed process for improving protein expression.

Production of Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) (P(3HB)) from Different Agroindustry Byproducts by Bacillus megaterium

Guilherme de Souza Hassemer et al.

Summary: The widespread use of plastics has become a staple of modern society, however, the production of biopolymers may offer a viable alternative. Research has shown that confectionery wastewater and rice parboiling water may be used as culture media for microorganisms to produce PHAs, but further optimization is necessary.
