Fabrication of amino acid-based supramolecular hydrogel with silver ions for improved antibacterial properties

Xue-Qing Zhao et al.

Summary: In this study, Fmoc-F-based self-assembled supramolecular hydrogels with excellent antibacterial properties were fabricated through the facile incorporation of silver ions. The hydrogels showed high antibacterial activities against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, as well as good biocompatibility with mouse fibroblast cells. These results suggest that the Fmoc-F@Ag hydrogel can be effectively used for antibacterial applications.
