The responsiveness and predictive validity of the de Morton Mobility Index in geriatric rehabilitation

Kasper Sondergaard et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the responsiveness and predictive validity of the DEMMI. The results showed moderate responsiveness and high predictive validity of the DEMMI score. The DEMMI score can be used to monitor mobility changes and predict functional status in elderly patients undergoing rehabilitation.

Using comprehensive geriatric assessment for older adults undertaking a facility-based transition care program to evaluate functional outcomes: a feasibility study

Ying Git Wong et al.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of using a comprehensive geriatric assessment (CGA) to measure older adults' functional outcomes in a residential transition care setting. The results showed that using the selected assessment tools in CGA was acceptable and suitable for the transition care population, and it helped older adults understand their present state of health. Older adults demonstrated improvements in functional mobility and quality of life after participating in CGA.

Meaningful values of the EQ-5D-3L in patients undergoing primary knee arthroplasty

L. Z. Yapp et al.

Summary: This study aimed to report the meaningful values of EQ-5D-3L questionnaire and EQ-VAS in patients undergoing primary knee arthroplasty. The study found that EQ-5D-3L questionnaire demonstrated good internal consistency and determined the minimum clinically important difference for evaluating clinically relevant changes. The findings of this study are of significance for assessing postoperative changes in patients' quality of life.

Effectiveness of facility-based transition care on health-related outcomes for older adults: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Jo-Aine Hang et al.

Summary: This review included 21 studies and found that TCP has a positive effect on older adults, improving their ability to perform activities of daily living and facilitating successful discharge home. However, the proportion of older adults discharged home varies significantly between countries, which may be related to the intensity of rehabilitation and maximum length of stay prior to discharge.

Identifying the Association Between Older Adults' Characteristics and Their Health-Related Outcomes in a Transition Care Setting: A Retrospective Audit

Jo-Aine Hang et al.

Summary: This study audited older adults who completed a facility-based Transition Care Program in Australia, and found that older adults who were independent in activities of daily living and had good cognitive levels were more likely to be discharged home. Cases discharged home also showed greater improvement in functional ability compared to cases discharged to other destinations.
