A reference model for common understanding of capabilities and skills in manufacturing

Aljosha Koecher et al.

Summary: In manufacturing, Industrie 4.0 use cases often require vendor-neutral and machine-interpretable information models for resource functions. Standardization of such models is currently lacking. This paper presents a reference model developed by members of Plattform Industrie 4.0, covering definitions of key aspects of capabilities and skills. It serves as a foundation for future standardization efforts.

Patterns for Reuse in Production Systems Engineering

Kristof Meixner et al.

Summary: This paper identifies challenges and requirements for representing reuse knowledge in Production Systems Engineering (PSE) based on a domain analysis in automotive manufacturing, and introduces an improved Industry 4.0 Asset Network (I4AN) meta-model and reference model. The models aim to help PSE domain experts identify reusable patterns and complete sets of assets, ultimately improving reuse efficiency and reducing risks.

A Domain-Specific Language for Product-Process-Resource Modeling

Kristof Meixner et al.

Summary: In the field of CPPS engineering, a Domain Specific Language (DSL) called PPR DSL is used to effectively and efficiently represent Product-Process-Resource (PPR) views and evaluate constraints. By illustrating with industrial use cases such as rocker switch, the design and practicality of PPR DSL is demonstrated.
