VaTEST I: validation of sub-Saturn exoplanet TOI-181b in narrow orbit from its host star

Priyashkumar Mistry et al.

Summary: We validate TOI-181b, a sub-Saturn exoplanet orbiting a K spectral type star TOI-181, and provide important insights into the formation and migration history of similar planetary systems, as warm sub-Saturns are uncommon in the known sample of exoplanets.

TESS-Keck Survey. XIV. Two Giant Exoplanets from the Distant Giants Survey

Judah Van Zandt et al.

Summary: We conducted a three-year radial velocity campaign called the Distant Giants Survey to measure the conditional occurrence of distant giant planets in systems hosting close-in small planets. We monitored 47 Sun-like stars hosting small transiting planets and discovered two distant giant planets, TOI-1669 b and TOI-1694 c. We also confirmed the transit of TOI-1694 b and measured its true mass.

Predicting the Exoplanet Yield of the TESS Prime and Extended Missions through Years 1-7

Michelle Kunimoto et al.

Summary: TESS has predicted the possible number of exoplanets that may be detected in the next seven years through simulations, with different expected discoveries in the Prime Mission and Extended Missions, while new planets discovered will be progressively smaller, with longer orbital periods, and will orbit fainter stars as observations continue.

Observing exoplanets from Antarctica in two colours: Set-up and operation of ASTEP

Francois-Xavier Schmider et al.

Summary: This paper describes the performance and laboratory tests of a new two-color simultaneous visible photometry camera box installed on the ASTEP telescope. The observational data shows improved performance of the new camera box, with an increased signal-to-noise ratio and photon count. The ASTEP+ telescope equipped with the new focal box will be able to effectively track and characterize a large number of exoplanetary transits in the coming years.

Twin High-Resolution, High-Speed Imagers for the Gemini Telescopes: Instrument Description and Science Verification Results

Nicholas J. Scott et al.

Summary: The new imaging instruments 'Alopeke and Zorro were designed, built, and commissioned at Gemini-North and Gemini-South telescopes in 2018 and 2019. They are dual-channel imagers based on the legacy of the DSSI instrument, primarily performing speckle interferometry. These instruments play a major role in validating and characterizing exoplanets and their host stars, and are available for community use through a peer-reviewed proposal process.

Follow-Up and Validation of K2 and TESS Planetary Systems With Keck NIRC2 Adaptive Optics Imaging

Joshua E. Schlieder et al.

Summary: High resolution imaging (HRI) is essential for identifying and validating exoplanets, improving measurements, and the Keck NIRC2 adaptive optics imaging program has been crucial in providing necessary data for the validation and characterization of K2 and TESS candidate planet host systems.

SOAR TESS Survey. II. The Impact of Stellar Companions on Planetary Populations

Carl Ziegler et al.

Summary: Research found that the occurrence of transiting exoplanets in solar-type binary systems is suppressed nearly seven times, leading to an overestimation of planet occurrence rates by a factor of two in magnitude-limited surveys if binary suppression is not considered. Additionally, there is tentative evidence of similar close binary suppression of planets in M-dwarf systems.

Vetting of 384 TESS Objects of Interest with TRICERATOPS and Statistical Validation of 12 Planet Candidates

Steven Giacalone et al.

Summary: TRICERATOPS is a new Bayesian tool for vetting and validating TESS Objects of Interest (TOIs), using criteria to classify TOIs and prioritize follow-up observations to confirm bona fide planets. It is currently the only tool that models transits from nearby contaminant stars in addition to the target star, aiming to identify false positives and confirm actual planets.
