Plastic wrinkling of thin-walled tubes under axial compression in non-uniform temperature field

Xiao-Lei Cui et al.

Summary: The main purpose of this paper is to investigate the wrinkling behavior of thin-walled tubes under axial compression in a non-uniform temperature field created by induction heating. The study combines experiments and simulations to analyze the distribution of the temperature field and the wrinkling behavior of the tubes. The results reveal that axisymmetric wrinkles can form under axial compression in the non-uniform temperature field, with the width decreasing and the height increasing as the axial compression increases.
