New imidazole derivatives as aromatase inhibitor: Design, synthesis, biological activity, molecular docking, and computational ADME-Tox studies

Gokay Cetiner et al.

Summary: In this study, a series of imidazole derivatives were synthesized and evaluated for their biological activity against MCF7 breast cancer cells. The compounds showed higher efficacy than the reference drug cisplatin and exhibited low toxicity on L929 fibroblast cells, indicating good selectivity. Moreover, the compounds demonstrated similar effects to the reference drug letrozole on both MCF7 cells and aromatase enzyme. Molecular docking analysis further revealed their potential as non-steroidal aromatase inhibitors. Additionally, computational ADME-Tox studies suggested favorable drug profiles for these compounds.

Khalid Karrouchi et al.

Summary: This work presents the synthesis, spectroscopic characterization, reactivity study, photophysical properties, and evaluation of the alpha-glucosidase inhibitory activity of a pyrazole-triazole hybrid molecule. The compound's reactivity was investigated using density functional theory calculations, and its photophysical properties were studied with time-independent density functional theory calculations. In vitro experiments revealed that the compound possesses alpha-glucosidase inhibitory activity. Molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulations were conducted to investigate the binding mechanism of the compound in the active site of the enzyme.

Synthesis of benzimidazole derivatives as potent inhibitors for α-amylase and their molecular docking study in management of type-II diabetes

Shafqat Hussain et al.

Summary: By synthesizing seventeen derivatives and evaluating their alpha-amylase inhibitory potential, it was found that some compounds were much more effective in inhibiting alpha-amylase compared to the standard drug acarbose, while other derivatives also showed promising inhibitory potentials. The synthesized compounds were characterized and a structure activity relationship (SAR) was established, with binding interactions between ligands and active residues confirmed through molecular docking study.
