Synergistic Effects of V and Ni Catalysts on Hydrogen SorptionKinetics of Mg-Based Hydrogen Storage Materials: A Computational Study

Patcharaporn Khajondetchairit et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effects of adding Ni and V catalysts on the hydrogen absorption process in Mg-based storage materials using first-principles methods. The results show that both Ni and V facilitate hydrogen dissociation and stabilize hydrogen adsorption. The addition of V clusters induces surface reconstruction and provides more strong adsorption sites. The computational investigations suggest that hydrogen absorption into V/Mg2Ni material is both kinetically and thermodynamically feasible at high H2 pressure.

Interface effect in sandwich like Ni/Ti3C2 catalysts on hydrogen storage performance of MgH2

Haiguang Gao et al.

Summary: Sandwich-like Ni/Ti3C2 catalysts were fabricated controllably with interfacial differences via a modified wet chemical method. The Ni/Ti3C2-WE catalyst prepared from mixed solvents showed the best catalytic activity, with electronic interaction and unique catalyst structure being important factors for enhanced activity. This research highlights the significance of interfacial interactions between multiphase catalysts in improving hydrogen storage performance of Mg-based materials.

Asymmetric impact of fossil fuel and renewable energy consumption on economic growth: A nonlinear technique

Khan Baz et al.

Summary: By analyzing the time series data of Pakistan, asymmetric and nonlinear cointegration between fossil fuel, renewable energy, and economic growth was confirmed. Positive shocks had asymmetric feedback causality with economic growth and renewable energy consumption, while a symmetric bidirectional hypothesis was observed between fossil fuel consumption and economic growth. An asymmetrically unidirectional causal nexus was confirmed between foreign direct investment and economic growth.

Non-Noble Metal-Based Catalysts Applied to Hydrogen Evolution from Hydrolysis of Boron Hydrides

Yan Wang et al.

Summary: Hydrogen energy is proposed as a promising energy replacement to resolve the current energy problems for sustaining the long-term development of human society and eventually achieving the hydrogen economy. Seeking appropriate non-noble metal-based catalysts is the vital step that is needed to improve the sluggish kinetics of the hydrolysis process. The study systematically discusses different non-noble metal-based catalysts and emphasizes the importance of developing sustainable and clean hydrogen energy.
