Non-contact and direct electrocaloric effect measurement for high-throughput material screening

Masaaki Baba et al.

Summary: A non-contact and direct electrocaloric effect (ECE) measurement system was developed for rapid ECE measurement, utilizing two measurement methods to evaluate the performance of ferroelectric materials. The constant heating rate method (CH method) and one-dimensional temperature gradient method (1D method) can measure the temperature dependence of the ECE faster and more consistently than conventional methods.

Local heat emission due to unidirectional spin-wave heat conveyer effect observed by lock-in thermography

Yuta Kainuma et al.

Summary: Lock-in thermography measurements were used to study heat source distribution induced by the unidirectional spin-wave heat conveyer effect, showing spatially biased sharp heating patterns and the importance of edge spin-wave dynamics. The capability of remote heating through a macro-scale air gap between two magnetic materials was demonstrated thanks to long-range dipole-dipole coupling.

Giant electrocaloric materials energy efficiency in highly ordered lead scandium tantalate

Youri Nouchokgwe et al.

Summary: Electrocaloric materials, like highly ordered bulk lead scandium tantalate PST, have shown promising efficiency in exchanging electrocaloric heat compared to the work needed to trigger it, making them strong candidates for future cooling devices. The intrinsic efficiency of electrocaloric materials has been largely overlooked, indicating the need for further research and development in this field.
