Photo-assisted electrocatalysis of black phosphorus quantum dots/molybdenum disulfide heterostructure for oxygen evolution reaction

Qian Ma et al.

Summary: By loading black phosphorus quantum dots (BP QD) onto molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) nanosheets to form BP QD/MoS2 heterojunctions, the OER performance can be significantly improved. Additionally, both photo-assistance and changing KOH concentration can adjust the performance of the heterojunction. Experimental results demonstrate that the prepared BP QD/MoS2 heterojunctions exhibit strong stability.

Electronic properties of multilayer armchair phosphorene nanoribbons under strain

Jie Gong et al.

Summary: The study showed that specific strains can close the band gap of multilayer phosphorene nanoribbons, leading to the appearance of peaks. The band gaps of all APNRs are linearly dependent on the strain, but four layer APNRs are most sensitive to it.

Force-constant model for the vibrational modes in black-phosphorene and phosphorene nanoribbons (PNRs)

Oussama Boutahir et al.

Summary: In this paper, a force constant model developed for Black phosphorene was presented to replicate the vibrational properties calculated from density functional theory. The results showed excellent agreement with experimental data from Raman spectroscopy measurements. By studying the impact of edges and widths on the vibrational properties of phosphorene nanoribbons, additional Raman modes related to ribbon width were observed and an equation for estimating ribbon width was proposed.
