Low-Temperature Surface Phase Transitions in Multiferroic BiFeO3 Nanocrystals Probed via Electron Paramagnetic Resonance

Shankari Nadupalli et al.

Summary: This study investigates the low-temperature phase transitions observed in magneto-electric bismuth ferrite by connecting recent structural revelations with X-band electron paramagnetic resonance spectra. The research shows the vital role of oxygen vacancies in lattice contraction and spin reorientation, contributing to the anomalies in resonant lines. The phase transitions at 140, 200, and 280 K are explained by changes in interatomic distances, elastic distortion of oxygen octahedra, and freezing of spins in the lattice, respectively.

Analysis of the role of M-type hexaferrite-based materials in electromagnetic interference shielding

Shalom Ann Mathews et al.

Summary: M-type hexaferrite is highly regarded for its large magneto-crystalline anisotropic energy, exceptional chemical stability, corrosion resistance, high Curie temperature, and high coercivity. This review paper focuses on examining the microwave absorption properties and related studies of materials based on M-type hexaferrite, discussing their performance in various microwave bands and emphasizing the complementarity between magnetic loss and dielectric loss for effective microwave absorption. The article elaborates on the mechanisms of microwave absorption in different morphologies and structural adaptations of hexaferrite, as well as outlining current trends and future perspectives of these materials.
