Catalytic Reduction of Methylene Blue Dye by Copper Oxide Nanoparticles

Naceur Benhadria et al.

Summary: CuO nanoparticles were synthesized using the precipitation method and modified with SDS and CTAB surfactants. The characteristics of CuO NPs were investigated using XRD, XPS, SEM, FT-IR, and EDAX. The CuO-SDS catalyst showed the best results in the reduction of MB dye, with complete degradation achieved in 10 minutes. The reuse of CuO-SDS catalyst for five cycles proved its effectiveness in reducing MB dye.
