Segmenting Objects From Relational Visual Data

Xiankai Lu et al.

Summary: In this article, the authors propose an attentive graph neural network (AGNN) for pixelwise object segmentation tasks (i.e., automatic video segmentation, image co-segmentation, and few-shot semantic segmentation) in relational visual data. AGNN effectively captures knowledge from the relational visual data through iterative information fusion, leading to accurate object discovery and segmentation.

Zero-Shot Video Object Segmentation With Co-Attention Siamese Networks

Xiankai Lu et al.

Summary: We introduce a novel network called COSNet that addresses the zero-shot video object segmentation task by incorporating a global co-attention mechanism. COSNet outperforms current alternatives by capturing global correlations and scene context through joint computation and appending co-attention responses into a joint feature space.

Unsupervised Discovery of the Long-Tail in Instance Segmentation Using Hierarchical Self-Supervision

Zhenzhen Weng et al.

Summary: This research aims to propose an unsupervised method to discover long-tail categories in instance segmentation by learning instance embeddings of masked regions. By leveraging self-supervised losses for learning mask embeddings, the model trained on COCO dataset is able to identify novel and more fine-grained objects than common categories. The model achieves competitive quantitative results on LVIS compared to supervised and partially supervised methods.
