NPY1R exerts inhibitory action on estradiol-stimulated growth and predicts endocrine sensitivity and better survival in ER-positive breast cancer

Raksha Bhat et al.

Summary: This study reveals that the expression of NPY1R gene and protein in breast cancer is associated with subtypes and changes with the transition of molecular subtypes. In ER+ BC cells, NPY1R expression increases in response to estrogen stimulation and decreases in cells resistant to endocrine therapies. In addition, high NPY1R gene expression is associated with better relapse-free survival and overall survival.
