Industry payments to pathologists in the USA between 2013 and 2021

Summary: This study examined the financial relationships between pathologists and the healthcare industry in the USA from 2013 to 2021. The findings showed that 49.5% of pathologists received payments totaling $356.7 million, with 68.2% of these payments being for research. Male pathologists specializing in blood banking and transfusion medicine and hematopathology were more likely to receive both research and non-research payments.
