Multivesicular Liposomes for Glucose-Responsive Insulin Delivery

Guangqu Liu et al.

Summary: In this study, a glucose-responsive multivesicular liposome system was developed for self-regulated insulin delivery. The system effectively released insulin in response to fluctuating glucose concentrations in vitro. Glucose oxidase catalyzed glucose enrichment on the liposome surface, leading to the destruction of the outer liposome membrane and subsequent insulin release. Animal experiments demonstrated the system's ability to effectively regulate blood glucose levels, suggesting its promising application in diabetes treatment.

Novel lipid combination for delivery of plasmid DNA to immune cells in the spleen

Seigo Kimura et al.

Summary: This study developed a novel lipid combination for efficient and selective delivery of pDNA to immune cells in the spleen. The combination of DODAP and DOPE resulted in LNPs with significantly higher gene expression specific to the spleen, potentially through promoting gene expression associated with B cell activation. The optimized LNPs also showed promise for anti-tumor effects.
