Heterocyclic amino acid molecule as a multifunctional interfacial bridge for improving the efficiency and stability of quadruple cation perovskite solar cells

Yuting Chen et al.

Summary: Regulating the charge extraction ability of electron transport materials and constructing a chemically linked interface are crucial for improving the power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) and stability of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). This study incorporates a heterocyclic amino acid molecule, 3-amino-4-pyrazolecarboxylic acid (APA), into the SnO2/perovskite interface, resulting in improved device performance through a multifunctional interfacial bridge. The introduction of APA enhances the optoelectronic properties of SnO2 and effectively passivates the perovskite interface, leading to impressive PCEs and long-term stability for the PSCs.

Improving OFF-State Bias-Stress Stability in High-Mobility Conjugated Polymer Transistors with an Antisolvent Treatment

Malgorzata Nguyen et al.

Summary: Conjugated polymer field-effect transistors show excellent mechanical properties, high charge-carrier mobilities, and compatibility with large-area, low-temperature processing, making them a promising technology for flexible electronics. However, their electrical stability is still a concern. This study presents a simple method of antisolvent treatment to improve the stability and performance of solution-processable indacenodithiophene-co-benzothiadiazole (IDT-BT) polymer transistors. The method increases the degree of crystallinity in the weakly crystalline polymer films, reducing electron trapping and charge traps. This highlights the importance of microstructure in weakly crystalline polymer films and offers a processing strategy for reliable flexible electronics.

Photoresponsive Covalent Organic Frameworks with Diarylethene Switch for Tunable Singlet Oxygen Generation

Nana Sun et al.

Summary: The incorporation of molecular switches with light, heat, and electricity responsibility into artificial solids has proven to be a successful strategy in constructing stimuli-responsive functional materials. However, the precise manipulation of molecular geometries and electronic structures to control the properties of macroscopic materials remains a fundamental challenge. In this study, a photoresponsive covalent organic framework (o-COF) with a square lattice was fabricated, showing reversible photoisomerization upon UV irradiation. Spectroscopic investigations and theoretical simulations revealed different photocatalytic activities in two COFs due to distinct energy transfer pathways, which could be easily tuned in a reversible manner by adjusting the ring-closed/open form of dithienylethene units using UV and visible light.
