A fast temperature-programmed second-dimension column for comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography

Summary: In this study, a method of rapid heating and cooling in the second dimension of two-dimensional comprehensive chromatography is described. The use of a resistively heated column cooled by compressed air allows for temperature programming and minimizes the lag time between the actual temperature and the reported temperature. This technique improves the performance of gas chromatography and reduces the retention time and peak width of analytes.
