Methylammonium Tin Tribromide Quantum Dots for Heavy Metal Ion Detection and Cellular Imaging

Muthaiah Shellaiah et al.

Summary: The development of luminescent and nontoxic Pb-free perovskite quantum dots (PQDs) for quantification of toxic/nontoxic heavy metal ions has been investigated. Blue emissive MASnBr3QDs and PEI-OA-MASnBr3QDs were successfully synthesized and characterized. The results demonstrated that these PQDs can effectively detect Fe3+ and Cr6+ ions with low detection limits.

Integrating Ordered Two-Dimensional Covalent Organic Frameworks to Solid-State Nanofluidic Channels for Ultrafast and Sensitive Detection of Mercury

Xu-Qin Ran et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the integration of ordered two-dimensional covalent organic frameworks (2D COFs) into solid-state nanofluidic channels for rapid, selective, and sensitive detection of contaminants. The JNU-3@AAO-based nanofluidic sensor allows for ultrafast and precise determination of Hg(II), with a low limit of detection, wide linear range, and good precision. The developed method is also successfully applied to the determination of mercury in complex samples.

Covalent Organic Frameworks for Chemical and Biological Sensing

Shiji Zhang et al.

Summary: Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are highly ordered crystalline porous organic polymers with wide-ranging applications in fields such as gas storage, pollution removal, catalysis, and optoelectronics. The unique feature of COFs is their modifiable one-dimensional pores, which enable them to be used in chemical and biological sensing. This review provides an overview of the basic principles and diverse applications of COFs in sensing various substances, as well as discussing future trends and challenges in COFs-based chemical and biological sensing.
