Nature of arsenic sites in arsenian pyrite- A synchrotron radiation X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (SRXPS) study

P. Forson et al.

Summary: The nature of arsenic environment in pyrite was studied by observing arsenic substituted in pyrite. It was found that the arsenic in pyrite may exist as an As-As dimer and localized arsenic mineralization is present. The surface of pyrite also underwent changes in arsenic and sulfur.

Phase relations of arsenian pyrite and arsenopyrite

Aleksandr S. Stepanov et al.

Summary: Arsenian pyrite containing over 1% As is crucial in the deposition and distribution of gold and other chalcophile elements. Previous experimental studies on the equilibrium relations between pyrite and arsenopyrite have conflicting results, highlighting the need for new research.
