ACG Clinical Guideline for the Diagnosis and Management of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease

Philip O. Katz et al.

Summary: This article provides updated recommendations and practical guidance for the evaluation and management of GERD, including pharmacologic, lifestyle, surgical, and endoscopic management. Novel impedance-pH parameters are associated with proton pump inhibitor response in patients with inconclusive diagnosis of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease according to Lyon Consensus

Mentore Ribolsi et al.

Summary: The study examined the diagnostic yield of MNBI and PSPW index in patients with inconclusive GERD diagnosis and their relationship with PPI response. Abnormal MNBI and PSPW index were significantly more frequent in patients with inconclusive GERD, with those displaying pathological values more likely to respond positively to PPI treatment. This highlights the value of MNBI and PSPW index as adjunctive metrics in characterising patients with inconclusive evidence of GERD and identifying those responsive to PPI treatment.
