Prevalence of Overweight and Obesity in France: The 2020 Obepi-Roche Study by the Ligue Contre l'Obesite

Summary: According to the Obepi-Roche 2020 survey, the prevalence of overweight and obesity in France is 47.3%, with 17.0% of individuals being obese. Northern and eastern regions of France have higher rates of overweight. Comparing to previous surveys since 1997, overweight rates have remained around 30% while obesity prevalence has been steadily increasing, especially among young people and those with severe obesity. A reedition of the Obepi-Roche series is needed to confirm these concerning trends.
