Summary: Researchers have designed a fiber optic plate (FOP) coupled perovskite X-ray camera to reduce the dose rate for dental X-ray imaging. After FOP coupling, the pulp cavity, root canal, dentin, and root canal file can be clearly observed at a dose rate as low as 3 muGy(air) s(-1), which is lower than the required dose rate for commercial intraoral dental sensors. This portable X-ray camera shows great potential in intraoral dental X-ray imaging.

Summary: Metal-free perovskites (MFPs) are used in flexible X-ray detection due to their flexible and degradable properties. Understanding the relationship between structure and device performance is crucial for designing MFPs. In this study, MPAZE-NH4I3 center dot H2O was designed and synthesized with improved stability and performance. The introduction of a methyl group enhances tolerance factor, dipole moment, and hydrogen bonds. Meanwhile, H2O increases the formation sites of hydrogen bonds and optimizes the band nature, inhibiting ionic migration and improving structural stiffness. Spectral analysis confirms the enhanced electron-phonon coupling and carrier recombination lifetime, leading to improved performance. A flexible and degradable X-ray detector with high sensitivity (740.8 mu C Gy(air)(-1) cm(-2)) and low detection limit (0.14 nGy(air) s(-1)) was fabricated.

Summary: This comprehensive study on the formation dynamics of self-trapped excitons (STEs) in one-dimensional and zero-dimensional copper halides reveals that the slower formation rate of STEs in one-dimensional structure is related to the number of phonons released in the self-trapping process. Moreover, it is found that non-radiative recombination of STEs in one-dimensional copper halides mainly occurs via an intersection with the ground state, limiting the photoluminescence quantum yield at room temperature.
