Control Aggregation of P3HT in Solution for High Efficiency Doping: Ensuring Structural Order and the Distribution of Dopants

Duo Liu et al.

Summary: Molecular doping is an important tool for manipulating the electrical properties of conjugated polymers in optoelectronic applications. However, in solution-mixed doping, the interaction between the polymer and dopant leads to structural disorder and random arrangement. To overcome this, the authors proposed a strategy of cooling the solution, allowing the polymers to aggregate and ensuring high crystallinity. This distribution of the dopant allows for higher charge dissociation and transport, resulting in a higher conductivity compared to doping in a disordered coil conformation.

Lan-Qian Yao et al.

Summary: This study proposes and develops a printed embedded metal composite electrode (PEMCE) strategy for creating ultra-thin, highly flexible transparent electrodes, effectively addressing the low efficiency issue in existing stretchable organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). By utilizing these transparent electrodes as anodes, flexible/stretchable white OLEDs with a current efficiency of up to 77.4 cd A(-1) and a maximum luminance of 34,787 cd m(-2) have been successfully fabricated. The findings have great potential for application in various flexible/stretchable electronic devices.

Single-step treatment to improve conductivity of PEDOT:PSS by hydrobromic acid solution for application of transparent electrode

Muhammad Zeshan Ali et al.

Summary: Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonic acid) (PEDOT:PSS) is an organic conducting material with tunable conductivity, high transparency, facile processability and stability. Treatment with DMSO solvent and hydrobromic acid solution in DMSO significantly improves the electrical conductivity of PEDOT:PSS. The mechanism of the conductivity improvement is attributed to the diffusion of DMSO and HBr-DMSO solution into PEDOT:PSS, resulting in charge screening and weakening of the electrostatic interactions. The treated PEDOT:PSS films exhibit low sheet resistance and high transparency, making them suitable for optoelectronic applications such as organic solar cells.

Summary: This study investigates the effect of temperature on the dielectric properties and electrical conductivity of water and polar solvents. It is found that the static dielectric constant and dipole dielectric relaxation time of water and alcohols decrease with temperature, while the limiting high frequency electrical conductivity reaches a maximum at 250-300 degrees Celsius. The presence of a maximum in the temperature dependences of these properties is attributed to the different nature of their temperature dependences.
