Compact Peptoid Molecular Brushes for Nanoparticle Stabilization

Shih-Ting Wang et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates a method of using peptoid molecules to stabilize gold, silver, platinum, and iron oxide nanoparticles (NPs). This approach allows for the control of NP stability in different environments while maintaining a small NP molecular shell size. Experimental results show that gold nanoparticles coated with a specific structure of peptoid (PE5) exhibit superior stability and can self-assemble into ordered 2D lattices at the vapor-aqueous interface.

Improvement in dispersion stability of alumina suspensions and corresponding chemical mechanical polishing performance

Wantang Wang et al.

Summary: This study aimed to improve the physicochemical properties of alumina suspensions by using different polymeric dispersants. The results showed that the suspensions containing a suitable dosage of poly(acrylic acid)-b-PEG-b-poly(acrylic acid) (PAEG) had the advantages of low viscosity, good stability, and monodispersity. The adsorption isotherm indicated that the adsorption of dispersants on alumina particles followed the Langmuir model. The CMP experiments showed that the suspension prepared with PAEG as a dispersant resulted in better removal rates and lower surface roughness when polishing SiC substrates.

Julian Grundler et al.

Summary: This study establishes a straightforward method to precisely tailor the surface topography of PEGylated polymeric nanoparticles based on tuning the architecture of shape-persistent amphiphilic bottlebrush block copolymer (BBCP) building blocks. The research demonstrates that nanoparticle formation and surface topography can be controlled by systematically changing the structural parameters of BBCP architecture, and reveals that the surface topography significantly affects the performance of PEGylated nanoparticles.
