Porous Mn-doped cobalt phosphide nanosheets as highly active electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reaction

Yihao Liu et al.

Summary: Mn-doped cobalt phosphide porous nanosheets were designed for efficient oxygen evolution reaction, showing impressive catalytic performance under alkaline conditions. In-situ transformation to Mn-CoOOH provides additional active sites for improved activity. Density functional theory calculations demonstrate that Mn doping enhances gap states near active O sites, facilitating deprotonation reactions and reducing energy barriers for rate-determining steps.

Gettering La Effect from La3IrO7 as a Highly Efficient Electrocatalyst for Oxygen Evolution Reaction in Acid Media

Qing Qin et al.

Summary: La3IrO7-SLD is a highly efficient OER electrocatalyst with better activity and durability compared to commercial IrO2, showing lower overpotential at 10 mA cm(−2) and approximately five times higher mass activity. The lattice oxygen participating mechanism with central Ir atoms as active sites (LOM-Ir) rationalizes its high activity.

Stabilizing Highly Active Ru Sites by Suppressing Lattice Oxygen Participation in Acidic Water Oxidation

Yunzhou Wen et al.

Summary: Ternary oxide electrocatalysts consisting of Sr, Ru, and Ir have been developed to achieve high OER activity and stability in acidic electrolytes. The interaction in the Ru-O-Ir local structure suppresses the participation of lattice oxygen during OER, thus improving stability, while modulation of the electronic structure of active Ru sites optimizes the binding energetics of OER oxo-intermediates.
