Decision and coordination analysis of extended warranty service in a remanufacturing closed-loop supply chain with dual price sensitivity under different channel power structures

Xiaodong Zhu et al.

Summary: This paper studies the impact of dual price sensitivity on the decision-making of the closed-loop supply chain. It uses a dynamic game model and mathematical optimization to derive supply chain decision-making and performance levels, and proposes a contract to coordinate the supply chain. The research shows that channel power structures, remanufacturing cost savings, and dual price sensitivity all have important impacts on the supply chain and corporate profits.

Fairness concerns and extended producer responsibility transmission in a circular supply chain

Zhi Liu et al.

Summary: Extended producer responsibility (EPR) is a policy tool that holds manufacturers accountable for recycling and remanufacturing their end-of-life products. This study explores the fairness concerns that arise when manufacturers pass on the responsibility to retailers through price markup. The findings show that a win-win situation can be achieved if manufacturers consider retailers' fairness concerns when determining wholesale prices and if retailers set lower prices to fulfill part of the upfront investment for EPR.

Determinants of Remanufacturing Adoption for Circular Economy: A Causal Relationship Evaluation Framework

Shahbaz Khan et al.

Summary: This study developed a framework for investigating the causal relationship among determinants of adopting remanufacturing processes for the circular economy. Through an integrated approach comprising a literature review and the Modified Delphi Method, ten remanufacturing adoption determinants were identified. The outcomes of this study may aid management and policy makers in formulating strategies for effectively implementing remanufacturing methods within their organizations.

The prices and quality of new and remanufactured products in a new market segment

Haike Qiao et al.

Summary: This study examines the optimal pricing and quality of new and remanufactured products, focusing on the quality adjustment by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in a new market segment consisting of indifferent and new product only segments. Game models and backward induction are used to derive optimal pricing and quality in scenarios with monopolist OEM no-remanufacturing, monopolist OEM remanufacturing, and OEM no-remanufacturing but independent remanufacturer (IR) remanufacturing. It is found that the OEM cannot lower product quality when remanufacturing, and that the OEM may need to increase product quality in segmented markets under certain conditions.

Willingness-to-cede behaviour in sustainable supply chain coordination

Xiao-Xue Zheng et al.

Summary: The study investigates how to coordinate stakeholders in sustainable supply chains, considering supply chain leaders' willingness-to-cede behavior, by modifying game theory methods to promote sustainability cooperation at the supply chain level. The research findings suggest that optimal coordinated solutions can be achieved when leaders are willing to cede and when sustainability competition and concessions are low.

A novel cooperative game-based method to coordinate a sustainable supply chain under psychological uncertainty in fairness concerns

Zhi Liu et al.

Summary: This study investigates the impact of retailers' fairness concerns on cooperative relationships in a three-party sustainable supply chain using Nash equilibrium strategy, and proposes a novel coordination method combining IVLSPN approach and three-party Nash bargaining game model. Fairness concerns do affect members' decisions and their cooperation for sustainable supply chain management, and the developed coordination method aims to perfectly coordinate the TSSC.
