Triggered Imaging With Auto Beam Hold and Pre-/Posttreatment CBCT During Prostate SABR: Analysis of Time Efficiency, Target Coverage, and Normal Volume Changes

Katalin Kisivan et al.

Summary: The study found that using triggered imaging and auto beam hold for prostate stereotactic ablative radiation therapy is comparable in time efficiency to competitive techniques, resulting in minimal three-dimensional residual errors with maintained target coverage. However, treatment time significantly increases when intrafractional CBCT and/or multiple corrections are needed.

Prospective dual-surrogate validation study of periodic imaging during treatment for accurately monitoring intrafraction motion of prostate cancer patients

Ashley Cetnar et al.

Summary: This study aimed to validate the use of periodic imaging with a fiducial marker detection algorithm using radiofrequency transponders for prostate cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy. Results showed that the accuracy of the algorithm for detected markers within the 2D images is comparable to electromagnetic monitoring for fiducial identification. This method could provide a cost-effective alternative for patients with contraindications to electromagnetic monitoring.

Triggered kV Imaging During Spine SBRT for Intrafraction Motion Management

Jihye Koo et al.

Summary: The feasibility of triggered imaging for intrafraction motion management in spine SBRT has been demonstrated through phantom experiments and clinical implementation. This technique allows efficient and non-invasive monitoring of patient position using OBI and patient anatomy as a direct visual guide.

Time Dependence of Intra-fractional Motion in Spinal Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy

Ryuta Hirai et al.

Summary: The study found that spinal position displacements during spinal SBRT increased with elapsed treatment time. It is recommended to check the spine position every 4-6 minutes or limit the treatment time to 4-6 minutes to ensure treatment accuracy.
