Alkali poisoning of Fe-Cu-ZSM-5 catalyst for the selective catalytic reduction of NO with NH3

Houda Jouini et al.

Summary: This study investigates the performance change of Fe-Cu-ZSM-5 SCR catalyst after contacting with poisoning species such as sodium and potassium. It is found that the introduction of alkali metals does not deteriorate the crystallinity and morphology of zeolite crystals, but leads to a significant loss of surface acidity, resulting in a dramatic deactivation of the SCR reaction.

Tetrahedrally coordinated W(VI) species induced Lewis acid for stable catalytic cracking of 1-hexene to propene

Junshu Chen et al.

Summary: Reasonable regulation of acidity in ZSM-5 catalysts, by introducing highly dispersed tetrahedrally coordinated W(VI) species, greatly improves the catalytic cracking performance for the production of propene from 1-hexene. The introduction of W enhances the stability of the catalyst structure, eliminates non-skeleton aluminum and excessive Bronsted acid sites, and inhibits carbon/coke deposition. The active tetrahedrally coordinated W(VI) species also enhance propene selectivity by inhibiting product polymerization. Optimizing parameters such as Si/Al ratio, temperature, and weight hourly space velocity allows for high conversion and selectivity to be maintained over a long reaction period.

Effect of small amounts of Al on the surface silanol structure and their correlation to the improved catalytic performances of WOx/SiO2-Al2O3 in the propene self-metathesis

N. Hongrutai et al.

Summary: In this study, the surface silanol structures, acid properties, and tungsten dispersion of sol-gel-derived 7W/SiO2-xAl2O3 catalyst were investigated using various analytical techniques. The addition of 1 wt% Al2O3 was found to effectively preserve the Si(OH)Al structure, leading to the best catalytic performance in propene self-metathesis reaction.

Experimental and Density Functional Theory Studies on the Zeolite-Based Fe-Ni-W Trimetallic Catalyst for High-Temperature NOx Selective Catalytic Reduction: Identification of Active Sites Suppressing Ammonia Over-oxidation

Hanzi Liu et al.

Summary: The Fe-exchanged zeolite catalyst with Ni and W modification effectively suppresses the over-oxidation of NH3 and improves the SCR performance at high temperatures. This is attributed to enhanced thermal tolerance of acidity sites and a higher valence state of active species in the multi-metal catalyst.

Ce-promoted Fe-Cu-ZSM-5 catalyst: SCR-NO activity and hydrothermal stability

Houda Jouini et al.

Summary: The addition of Ce affects the textural and structural properties of the Fe-Cu-MFI system, with Ce-promoted samples showing better NO conversion activity up to 450 degrees Celsius. The presence of Ce in aged catalysts also reduces the loss of activity.
