Summary: This study surveyed 1,449 smallholder farmers across 14 provinces in China and found that Internet use can significantly promote the adoption of modern agricultural production technology by smallholders, with a greater effect on those with low education levels, limited training, and high incomes. To increase the adoption of agricultural production technology by smallholders, the Chinese government should prioritize rural Internet infrastructure and the promotion of Internet use.

Summary: This paper empirically studies the impact of digital inclusive finance on the urban-rural income gap in China. The results show that digital inclusive finance has a narrowing effect on the income gap, both in terms of primary distribution and redistribution. Specifically, narrowing the income gap in primary distribution has a mediating effect on the overall urban-rural income gap, while narrowing the income gap in redistribution does not. Countermeasures are proposed for digital inclusive finance based on these findings.

Summary: This study examines the impact of financial support for agriculture on urban-rural income inequality in China using regional-level panel data from 2004 to 2018. The results show that fiscal incentives provided to financial institutions have led to an increase in agricultural loans and a significant reduction in urban-rural income inequality, particularly in underdeveloped areas. The policy works through enhancing financial availability, promoting labor migration, and fostering human capital accumulation to reduce the income gap between urban and rural areas.

Summary: China's targeted poverty alleviation strategy has provided a model for global poverty reduction governance. This paper explores the micro mechanisms of rural poverty reduction governance at the county and rural household levels, highlighting the role of political and policy resources on rural households' own conditions. Summary: This paper estimates the impact of the first nationwide e-commerce expansion program on rural households. It finds little evidence for income gains to rural producers and workers, with gains driven by a reduction in cost of living for a minority of rural households in more remote markets. These effects are mainly due to overcoming logistical barriers to e-commerce rather than additional investments to adapt e-commerce to the rural population.
