It suggests a different framework for analyzing queer representation in contemporary Russian poetry, focusing on queer vulnerability as an aesthetic sensibility that challenges queer silencing, powerlessness, and political pessimism. Contemporary Russian poetry is seen to embrace vulnerability in defiance of victimhood, shaping poetic texts amidst openly homophobic hostility.
