Foreign Language Processing of English Regular and Irregular Past Tense Verbs by Arabic-Speaking EFL Children

Summary: This study examines whether Arabic-speaking EFL children acquire irregular past verbs earlier than regular past verbs. The results suggest that the children learn regular forms before irregular ones, contradicting the Natural Order Hypothesis and supporting the L2 Overgeneralization of Alternative L2 Category Strategy and L1 Transfer Strategy.
