Pneumothorax and pulmonary hemorrhage after CT-guided lung biopsy: incidence, clinical significance and correlation

Vittorio Sabatino et al.

Summary: The study found similar incidence rates of pneumothorax and pulmonary hemorrhage after CT-guided lung biopsy, and pulmonary hemorrhage along the needle track may have a protective effect against the development of pneumothorax and the need for chest tube insertion.

Robotic Bronchoscopy for Peripheral Pulmonary Lesions A Multicenter Pilot and Feasibility Study (BENEFIT)

Alexander C. Chen et al.

Summary: This is the first prospective, multicenter study of robotic bronchoscopy in patients with PPLs. Successful lesion localization was achieved in 96.2% of cases, with an adverse event rate comparable with conventional bronchoscopic procedures. Additional large prospective studies are warranted to evaluate procedure characteristics, such as diagnostic yield.

Screening for Lung Cancer: US Preventive Services Task Force Recommendation Statement

Alex H. Krist et al.

Summary: Lung cancer is the second most common cancer and leading cause of cancer death in the US, with smoking and increasing age being the primary risk factors. Annual screening with low-dose computed tomography is recommended for adults aged 50 to 80 years with a 20 pack-year smoking history.
