Comparative safety and efficacy of cognitive enhancers for Alzheimer's dementia: a systematic review with individual patient data network meta-analysis

Areti Angeliki Veroniki et al.

Summary: This study compared the efficacy and safety of cognitive enhancers in managing Alzheimer's dementia by analyzing patient characteristics. The results showed differences in the effectiveness of different cognitive enhancers in improving cognitive abilities, and patient characteristics may influence the choice of medication.

Comparative efficacy and complications of long-acting and intermediate-acting insulin regimens for adults with type 1 diabetes: an individual patient data network meta-analysis

Areti Angeliki Veroniki et al.

Summary: This study conducted a systematic review and individual patient data network meta-analysis to compare the efficacy and complications of long-acting and intermediate-acting insulin for patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM). The results showed that long-acting insulin regimens reduced A1c and were associated with lower risk of severe hypoglycemia compared to intermediate-acting insulin regimens.

Do reporting guidelines have an impact? Empirical assessment of changes in reporting before and after the PRISMA extension statement for network meta-analysis

Areti Angeliki Veroniki et al.

Summary: The study found that NMAs published after 2015 more frequently reported items associated with NMA, but the improvement cannot be solely attributed to the publication of PRISMA-NMA.

Trials number, funding support, and intervention type associated with IPDMA data retrieval: a cross-sectional study

Irene X. Y. Wu et al.

Summary: The study identified predictors for high data retrieval and reporting in IPDMA, including non-Cochrane reviews, IPDMA on nonpharmacological interventions, analyses of smaller numbers of RCTs, and having funding support. Only a small percentage of studies met all the PICO criteria, reported methods for assessing bias risk, mentioned IPD integrity, and presented detailed synthesis results, indicating room for improvement in reporting quality.

Drugs for preventing postoperative nausea and vomiting in adults after general anaesthesia: an abridged Cochrane network meta-analysis

S. Weibel et al.

Summary: Postoperative nausea and vomiting is a common adverse effect of anesthesia, and this study systematically reviewed the efficacy and safety of various anti-emetics used for prevention. The findings show that combinations of drugs are generally more effective than single drugs, with certain single drugs demonstrating high effectiveness in preventing postoperative vomiting. However, there is still a considerable lack of evidence regarding the safety aspects of these drugs, warranting further investigation.
