A Compact and Highly Sensitive Voice-Eavesdropping Microresonator

Summary: The proposed voice-eavesdropping microresonator utilizes the dynamic vibration of the cantilever-microresonator system induced by an applied acoustic pressure to modulate cavity resonances, resulting in high sensitivity and better performance than many other optical acoustic sensors. With a noise equivalent pressure of 52 μPa/Hz(1/2) at 900 Hz, the system has a broad frequency response range covering 0 to 6 kHz. Experimental results demonstrate that the system can acquire and reconstruct a voice signal with high sensitivity and reliability at a distance of 7 meters.

Summary: The study demonstrates enhanced WGM lasing in a silica micro capillary with a liquid core containing Rhodamine B dye and silver nanoparticles. The lasing spectra can be tuned in wavelength and intensity is affected by the concentration of Ag nanoparticles. Sharp lasing spectra with low threshold were obtained for optimal AgNP concentration.
