Some dilemmas of economic democracy: Indicators and empirical analysis

Summary: This article addresses current and recurring dilemmas regarding economic or industrial democracy in modern society. It analyzes and ranks the levels of economic democracy among OECD countries and identifies the main indicators and proxies of economic democracy. The study finds that the type of economy, such as regulated welfare capitalism, determines and predicts higher levels of economic democracy, while unrestrained plutocratic capitalism tends to cause and predict lower levels of economic democracy.

Posted work, enforcement capacity and firm variation: Evidence from the Danish construction sector

Summary: This article examines the challenges of enforcing the labour rights of posted workers in the Danish construction sector, based on interviews, register data, and surveys with 150 Polish workers. It argues that the behavior of posting companies towards host country institutions varies depending on the company's position. While recent reforms to posting rules may address some legal issues, there are still significant enforcement challenges to be faced.
