Input quality and skills are complementary and increase output quality: Causal evidence from Ecuador's trade liberalization

Summary: This study examines the production complementarity between firms' high-quality intermediate inputs access and their skill composition, as well as their joint impact on output quality. The results show that lowering input tariffs allows firms to upgrade their input quality, and imported input quality together with firms' skill composition jointly enhance output quality.
