How well do Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Behavioural Activation for depression repair anhedonia? A secondary analysis of the COBRA randomized controlled trial

Batool Alsayednasser et al.

Summary: This study found that both Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Behavioural Activation (BA) have similar and partial effectiveness in treating anhedonia. While both therapies significantly improved anhedonia during acute treatment, there was no further improvement at follow-up intervals. Baseline anhedonia severity predicted reduced repair of depression symptoms and fewer depression-free days in both treatment arms.
