Human Values and Sophistication Interaction Theory

Paul Goren et al.

Summary: Political sophistication affects the structure and use of political values, but its effects on human values remain unclear. This study integrates Schwartz's theory of human values with sophistication interaction theory to examine the influence of education and political interest on the structure, crystallization, and use of values. Findings suggest that education and political interest do not affect the structure and crystallization of values, but they have some limited effects on value usage.
