Efficient absorption of low partial pressure SO2 by deep eutectic solvents based on pyridine derivatives

Qiang Wang et al.

Summary: Efficient and reversible absorption of SO2 by a new type of deep eutectic solvents (DESs) synthesized in this study has been achieved, particularly for low concentration SO2. The studied DESs demonstrated superior SO2 absorption performance compared to most DESs and ILs, with the absorption mechanism attributed to the chemical interaction between the pyridine nitrogen atom and SO2.

Effect of SCR downsizing and ammonia slip catalyst coating on the emissions from a heavy-duty diesel engine

Yunhua Zhang et al.

Summary: The combination of diesel oxidation catalyst, catalyzed diesel particulate filter and selective catalytic reduction is the most effective way to reduce particulate emissions and nitrogen oxide from diesel engines. Improvements such as ammonia slip catalyst coating and SCR catalyst downsizing also have an impact on NOx conversion efficiency and ammonia slip.

The effect of particle size on removal of SO2 from flue gas by MgO absorbents

Mengxi Zhao et al.

Summary: MgO nanofluids show better desulfurization effect in wet desulfurization process compared to MgO slurry by improving desulfurization efficiency. The density and viscosity of MgO nanofluids increase with concentration, but decrease with temperature. Properly reducing particle size can enhance the desulfurization efficiency of MgO absorbent in removing SO2 from flue gas.

Study on the role of copper converter slag in simultaneously removing SO2 and NOx using KMnO4/copper converter slag slurry

Jiacheng Bao et al.

Summary: A novel wet process using KMnO4/copper converter slag slurry for simultaneously removing SO2 and NOx from acid-making tail gas was proposed. Leached metal ions, such as Al3+, Cu2+, and Mg2+ from copper slag, played a crucial role in the absorption of SO2 and NOx, with a synergistic effect on NOx removal. Fe2+ had an inhibitory effect on NOx removal due to the reaction with KMnO4.

Effect of Doped Alkali Metal Ions on the SO2 Capture Performance of MnO2 Desulfurization Materials at Low Temperature

Xing Li et al.

Summary: In this study, MnO2 was modified with various alkali metal ions to enhance its SO2 capture performance. The MnO2 composite doped with LiOH (2.0 mol/L) showed the best SO2 capture capacity, which was 18% higher than that of pure MnO2. The type and concentration of alkali metal ions doped into MnO2 had varying effects on its SO2 capture performance.
