Changes in children's self-perceived physical fitness: results from a Physical Education internet-based intervention in COVID-19 school lockdown

Summary: This study aims to examine the effects of school lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic on children's self-perceived physical fitness and describe the prevalence of individual changes in physical fitness according to sex. The results show that a remote Physical Education intervention effectively maintains or even increases children's self-perceived physical fitness. Therefore, this kind of initiative should be continued during social distancing and pandemic conditions to help children maintain an active lifestyle and achieve health benefits. However, improving intervention effectiveness for girls seems to be a challenge.

Summary: With the rapid development of China's socialist process, society has made significant progress. The emergence of mobile Internet, a product of traditional Internet and mobile communication industries integration, has not yet reached a unified consensus in the industry. This study focuses on the application of Internet-based mobile information systems in college physical education classroom teaching, aiming to improve teaching quality and professional development of physical education teachers. Abundant online teaching resources provided by the system enhance students' information processing abilities and promote communication and cooperation among students.
