Effects of waste glass and waste marble on mechanical and durability performance of concrete

Jawad Ahmad et al.

Summary: Industrial waste has been increasing rapidly due to the growing population, leading to environmental pollution. Using industrial waste in concrete production can significantly reduce waste disposal. Waste glass and marble can be utilized as cement replacements or aggregates to enhance concrete strength. Research shows that workability of concrete decreases with higher content of waste glass and marble, while mechanical properties improve noticeably.

Graphene oxide as Nano material in high strength self-compacting concrete

M. Somasri et al.

Summary: Nano materials, with dimensions less than 100 nm, have the ability to modify elements at Nano scale. Graphene Oxide is one such Nano material that is incorporated in high strength self-compacting concrete (HSSCC) to improve its performance characteristics. The incorporation of GO has been found to significantly increase the compressive strength, tensile strength, and flexural strength of the concrete.
