Polymer brush-grafted cotton fiber for the efficient removal of aromatic halogenated disinfection by-products in drinking water

Ziyi Zhu et al.

Summary: A novel polymer brush grafted cotton fiber was prepared and used for the efficient removal of aromatic halogenated DBPs in drinking water, showing significantly longer breakthrough point compared with granular activated carbon, mainly due to the formation of hydrogen bonds and the presence of partially protonated amine groups. The ACF also demonstrated remarkable stability and reusability in the study.
