One-step integration of amorphous RuBx and crystalline Ru nanoparticles into B/N-doped porous carbon polyhedra for robust electrocatalytic activity towards the HER in both acidic and basic media

Jie Tang et al.

Summary: In this study, amorphous RuBx and crystalline Ru nanoparticles were successfully integrated into B/N-doped porous carbon polyhedra derived from ZIF-8 via a facile one-step thermal-reduction method. The obtained composite catalyst, RuBx-Ru@BNPCH, exhibited excellent catalytic activity and stability for hydrogen evolution reaction in both alkaline and acidic media. This research has explored a simple method for constructing amorphous/crystalline catalysts for highly efficient electrocatalysis, which could have applications in a wide range of catalytic processes.
