Hairpin-like siRNA-Based Spherical Nucleic Acids

Matthew K. Vasher et al.

Summary: A new hairpin-like siRNA-SNA design is introduced in this study to prevent guide strand dissociation, resulting in enhanced stability, reduced cytotoxicity, and more durable gene knockdown compared to traditional hybridized siRNA-SNAs. This novel approach significantly improves the biological function and establishes a next-generation SNA construct for life science and medical research.

Dual-Locked DNAzyme Platform for In Vitro and In Vivo Discrimination of Cancer Cells

Xing Huang et al.

Summary: This study proposes a dual-locked (D-locked) platform for highly specific cancer cell imaging. The platform consists of an enzyme/ miRNA-D-locked DNAzyme sensor and a honeycomb MnO2 nanosponge (hMNS) nanocarrier. The D-locked strategy selectively generates a fluorescence signal in cancer cells, allowing for accurate discrimination of cancer both in vitro and in vivo.
