A detailed theoretical exploration on the THR-b binding affinities and antioxidant activity of some halogenated bisphenols

Saman Zare Gheshlaghi et al.

Summary: This study investigated the binding affinity of natural and synthetic halogenated bisphenols on thyroid hormone receptor-beta and explored their antioxidant activity. The selected compounds showed strong binding activity to the receptor, interacting mainly through hydrogen and halogen bond interactions. The electrostatic potential surfaces reflected the antioxidant capacity of the compounds, and the halogen substituents enhanced their antioxidant activity.

Discovery of thieno[2,3-d]pyrimidine-based derivatives as potent VEGFR-2 kinase inhibitors and anti-cancer agents

Souad A. El-Metwally et al.

Summary: Novel thieno[2,3-d]pyrimidine derivatives with structural similarity to VEGFR-2 inhibitors were designed and synthesized, showing promising anticancer activities against human cancer cell lines. Compound 17f exhibited the highest cytotoxic activities against HCT-116 and HepG2 cell lines and displayed high inhibitory activity against VEGFR-2, comparable to the reference drug sorafenib. ADMET and toxicity assessments revealed that most compounds had low BBB penetration levels and were non-toxic, except for compounds 17b and 20b.

Design, synthesis and anticancer evaluation of structurally modified substituted aryl-quinazoline derivatives as anticancer agents

Tasqeeruddin Syed et al.

Summary: A new library of structurally modified aryl quinazoline-isoxazole derivatives were synthesized and evaluated for their anticancer activities against four human cancer cell lines. Most of the compounds exhibited good to moderate anticancer activities, with some showing more potent effects. Docking studies showed that all synthesized compounds had good binding interactions with the targeted proteins.
